| What
Dining options are available at RiverMead? |
| Our
award winning chef prepares a wide selection of delicious menu items every day.
Lunch is served in the Bistro. Dinner can be take out, buffet in the Bistro or
formal waiter service in the Dining Room. On Sundays, brunch is served from noon
to 2 pm. The Café serves complimentary coffee, tea and muffins daily and
is a great place for residents to gather over the newspaper or a puzzle. Picnic
baskets are available for take out. Residents enjoy the casual dining on the patio
in the summer months. Three meals a day are available for our health center residents.
Private dining rooms are available, by reservation, for special family gatherings. |

types of activities and recreational opportunities does RiverMead offer? |
Life
at RiverMead involves a variety of enriching activities. The program coordinator
plans weekly excursions to art galleries, museums, scenic trails and other events
that appeal to residents. Activity programs at RiverMead offer something to suit
every interest. They include everything from lectures and seminars to attending
chamber music concerts in the auditorium. There are a wide variety of social and
recreational activities such as cribbage, croquet, a computer group and bridge.
Opportunities for indoor and outdoor exercise include biking, hiking, walking,
jogging and water aerobics. You can enjoy our 20’X50’ indoor swimming pool as
well as an exercise room with modern cardiovascular and strength training equipment. |

| Is
transportation available? |
| RiverMead
provides bus service for scheduled trips into downtown Peterborough and the surrounding
area for groceries, banking and recreational outings several times a week. Bus
service is also available for scheduled visits to local physicians. Wheelchair
access is available with advance notice. |
Are
pets allowed? |
| Resident
pets are a welcome addition to RiverMead. Dogs are restricted to cottages and
first floor apartments. All pets are required to be on a leash when outside of
apartments or cottages, and are not permitted in indoor common areas. |
| Can
I have a car? |
| RiverMead
provides open parking for you and your guests. Covered parking is available at
an additional charge and all cottages have attached garages. |

Can
I have guests at RiverMead? |
| Guests
are a welcome addition to RiverMead. For your convenience there are two guest
suites each with two twin beds, private bathroom and kitchenette. Guest are always
welcome to join you in our dining room, enjoy the swimming pool or be a part of
special celebrations here at RiverMead. |
| What
is the fee to join the Waitlist? |
A
refundable deposit of $2,000 and an application fee of $250 are required to join
the Waitlist. This allows you to put your name on as many apartment styles as
you would like, and indicated your desired year of entry.  |
| What
is the town of Peterborough like? |
Nestled
in the shadow of Mt. Monadnock, Peterborough is home to six thousand people. The
downtown is a charming shopping district with great local shops and restaurants.
The residents of Peterborough have access to many cultural events and performances
such as the Peterborough Players Theatre, The Monadnock Chorus and Orchestra,
and Monadnock Music just to name a few. The town is further enriched by the presence
of the MacDowell Colony which is an artist-in-residence program that enhances
the community in many ways.
For recreation, there is a nine-hole golf course
and tennis club, a state park, two state forests, several exercise facilities,
a walking path, as well as a public recreation area with an outdoor pool and tennis
courts. The town is also home to The Monadnock Community
Hospital, which offers primary health care services. Civic and fraternal
organizations are active in town, including Lions, Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. There
are thirteen churches in the town representing a wide diversity of faiths. |
