Medication Nursing Assistant Certification Program
Medication Nursing Assistants (MNA) provide care under the supervision of nurses or other medical staff. They work in a team to ensure that residents receive high-quality and professional care. The duties of an MNA involve care and working as a partner with the nurse to administer medication to residents in the health center.
Qualifications:
- Must be employed by RiverMead as a Licensed Nursing Assistant
- Must be self-directed and dependable
- Must be a team player with a can-do attitude!
- Must possess strong communication skills
How to apply:
We are currently accepting applications for Licensed Nursing Assistants. Once a qualified individual is a LNA for at least two years, they can apply for the MNA Program by submitting a letter of intent to the Director of Human Resources.
Course Overview:
This is program consists of a total of 80 hours.
- 40 hours of instructor-led class work
- 40 hours of clinical-based work
This course will prepare employees to provide residents with quality care as a Medication Nursing Assistant. It is a combination of instructor-led and clinical-based work in an Assisted Living. Upon completing the course, employee-students will be equipped to take the state certification exam and submit their MNA license application to the Board of Nursing.
This is a program is offered free of charge to eligible RiverMead employees.
