Deb Seymore Celebrates 15 years in Culinary Services at RiverMead!
Deb's love for cuisine came at an early age. She was fascinated as a youngster watching the PBS cooking shows by Julia Child and Jacque Pepin. Her mom was a good cook and Deb learned to cook and be creative by watching her mom and experimenting on her own.
Deb is instrumental in the busy lunchtime bistro service at The Mead. Lunch service is not only available to residents, family members and guests but also the RiverMead daytime staff. Hungry groundskeepers and maintenance crew pour into the bistro between noon and 1pm. Deb works quickly and efficiently to get them fed and back to work. There is a usual lunch crowd of residents daily. Deb has a knack for remembering their likes and dislikes and it's often heard "Deb, you made me the perfect sandwich!" Or – "Deb, what should I have today?"
Deb volunteers her cooking skills for the VFW. Her favorite thing to eat is seafood- especially scallops!
In her free time, she enjoys going to flea markets and yard sales to hunt for small antique paintings. She has a collection of them. Antiques are also in her blood- her parents are antique dealers.
Fifteen years of service to RiverMead speaks to how much Deb enjoys her career. She remarks that she works with a great staff, she loves hearing all kinds of amazing stories from residents and RiverMead has "spectacular benefits". RiverMead thinks we get spectacular service and dedication from Deb!
