The New Hampshire Food Bank recently announced that John Bouley of RiverMead Retirement Community won the 2022 Steel Chef Challenge.

Celebrity chef Michael Symon hosted the event at the Armory Ballroom in the Manchester Doubletree Hotel. During this year’s challenge, the four local chefs were tasked with creating dishes using the key ingredients of lobster, sausage and olives. The event raised thousands of dollars for the New Hampshire Food Bank.

Chef Bouley began cooking professionally at the age of 15 and steadily progressed through high school in all types of short-order cooking roles. At the age of 21, he attended culinary school and transitioned into higher-end cuisine. He now has roughly twenty years of professional cooking experience and helps to oversee the day-to-day operation of the kitchens at RiverMead.

“We are very happy and proud of John’s victory in the NH Steel Chef challenge,” said Ben Cass, Director of Culinary Services at RiverMead. “John applies the same drive and creativity to his work at RiverMead, much to the enjoyment of our residents.”

John is a seasoned chef who delivers culturally and ethnically diverse dishes to the approximately three-hundred residents at RiverMead.
