RiverMead’s Community Connections Program Donates Books for Local Second Grade Students

The RiverMead Community Connections Volunteer Team has been reading and writing with the local Peterborough Elementary School for four years with great success. Before the COVID Pandemic, the RiverMead residents were visiting the students weekly. Last school year, they began the Pen Pal Program.

"I love to see the excitement in the eyes of our residents when they receive a letter from their Pen Pal," said Melissa Boisvert, RiverMead's Program Manager.

This year, the team decided to enhance this great connection by donating books to the students that they worked with and other students in the community. The volunteers then sorted and wrapped the books.

The group collected twenty-six books and donated them to Peterborough Elementary School on Monday, December 20th.
