Meet our Marketing Intern: Charlie S.

Back to all news

Hi! My name is Charlie, and I am a summer intern in the marketing department here at RiverMead. I just started here as an intern, but I have also worked bussing tables in the dining venues. What I love most about RiverMead is all the smiling faces I am greeted with when I come in the door. Here at RiverMead there is a culture of friendliness and a welcoming attitude embraced by everyone that works here or has lived here in their retirement. I think this job has taught me how much time and patience that is put into each and every person’s specialized care. The diversity of different careers based on assisting residents in their retirement is truly outstanding.

Something that you should know about working here is that unlike many other stressful work environments that can be found in other businesses RiverMead has a much more uplifting and even relaxed atmosphere that is just focused on helping the residents.

As for me, I am currently going into my senior year at Conval High School. I plan on attending college to study business and Spanish and maybe one day I can earn my master's degree. I also plan on staying at RiverMead throughout that time as I believe it has created a strong foundation for my entry into the professional world and it has led to opportunities for me that I never thought I would have. In my free time I am an avid reader, I work on my family farm, and I also play the guitar.

I think I am most passionate about history. I love learning about it, and it is my favorite subject in school. It has sparked for me a habit of reading and writing, which is often how I spend my free time.

When my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s late in her life, I wanted to make sure she was safe and cared for. I see myself continuing to help people like my grandmother and ensure no one is forgotten in the late stages of their life.
