Staff Spotlight: Kelsey Walker

Back to all news

Hello, my name is Kelsey. I am currently a supervisor in the culinary services department at RiverMead.

I started working here as a busser ten years ago, and over that time, I worked my way to a supervisor position. The best part of the job is the positive relationships you build between residents and staff. This job has not only taught me how to be an effective communicator to residents and staff, but it has also taught me the importance of a positive and caring attitude.

Any prospective employee should know that RiverMead is a unique workplace with residents who need extra time and care to feel comfortable, and it can be an educational experience.

Spending time with many different kinds of care professionals has allowed me to connect with staff and residents I couldn’t find elsewhere. I am passionate about physical fitness and personal training. This job has allowed me to connect with professionals such as Carol Leger, the community fitness manager and a mentor for me. She helped me become a certified personal trainer.

I continue to explore physical fitness in the fitness center and help residents continue to be their best selves and put their best foot forward in leading a healthy and thriving lifestyle.
