Beethoven has long stood as the iconic musical artist and revolutionary familiar to even casual listeners of wide-ranging musical taste. Always struggling to take music beyond the merely superficial, it is fascinating to see Beethoven’s growth as an artist of increasing complexity along with the inwardness and spirituality he would bring to his later compositions. David Gruender will help us explore this evolution with many musical examples and lively commentary. No previous musical knowledge required.

David Gruender is a former orchestra librarian who has worked with the Baltimore Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, and Boston Symphony. Last year, Mr. Gruender taught a very successful course titled “The History of the Orchestra” at RiverMead last year. Participants attending the class have requested his return.

Register by contacting the Keene State College Office of Continuing Education at 603-358-2290.  The cost for non-RiverMead affiliated participants is $55.

RiverMead Residents can register with the Program Coordinator, all others must register by contacting KSC Office of Continuing Ed. @ 603-358-2290.
